Contact and Corrections

If a frost line depth on this site looks wrong or out of date, we want to fix it. This page tells you what to include and what happens next, and gives a short template you can copy. Building officials who can send a design-criteria table are especially welcome.

How Do You Report a Wrong Frost Depth?

Send us the place, the value we show, the value you believe is right, and a link to the official document that says so. A building department page, a code section or a published table all work. Copy this template:

Place:
Page address:
Value shown on the site:
Value I believe is correct:
Link to the official document:
Where in the document (section or table):
My role (optional):

Where Do You Send It?

This site does not publish a contact address yet. We chose not to invent one, and a form that goes nowhere would be worse. Until one is added here, use the contact method of the person who shared the site with you.

Are You a Building Official?

If your department publishes a design-criteria table, send us the link. An official document for your jurisdiction is the best evidence we can get, and we review those first.

General Questions

For questions about how a number applies to your project, ask your local building department. We cannot give engineering or legal advice.

What Happens After You Write?

We check the document, update the value if it holds up and refresh the date shown on the page. A document that conflicts with the state rule is checked against the state code before anything changes. Read how we verify for the full process.
